EFT - Emotional Freedom technique (see video below)
For those of you who want to have less stress and pain, resolve anxiety, phobias, limiting beliefs, negative emotions, etc. This is one of the most simple techniques that most anyone can do!

EFT is based on ‘principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology’. Our bodies have energy that flows through meridians throughout our body. As you tap on specific points it can stimulate this system of energy. And while doing this tapping
You concentrate on a certain negative feeling or emotion that is bothering you.
This gives you that opportunity to take care of and heal your own self, emotionally, mentally, & physically.
As you tap on the points and think about the issue you are concerned about, it works on the brains limbic system system and your bodies energy. It helps or works on the amygdala of the brain where the ‘fight or flight’ response begins. Tapping is an easy and doable technique, its not painful and you can do it almost anywhere if you experience having any fears or apprehensions at a given moment. You get to rewire your brain and synapses for more appropriate response to your environment or thoughts about your environment.
Fortunately it can be an easy technique to help your children learn and use for themselves. Children with anxiety or ADHD or similar challenges can use this as a tool on their own or with help when they recognize a moment of anxiousness or something they want to overcome. I have personally released tension and helped tight stomach aches go away, relieved stress, and released some of my own frustrations & emotions.

His study set out to determine how an hour-long tapping session would impact the cortisol levels of 83 subjects. ..The results were fascinating. The average cortisol reduction of those who experienced an EFT Tapping session was 24%, and even hit as high as 50% in some subjects. On the other hand, people who experienced traditional talk therapy or no treatment at all didn’t experience any significant cortisol reduction.'
There are many resources on line to teach yourself the technique which is tapping 5-7 times on each point and voicing or mentally thinking of the concern and follow a sequence (usually repeat exercise 3 times) while eventually changing the negative thought(s) into a positive thought or outcome.

Most of us may have had a foot rub from a friend or a family member. It feels so relaxing & allows much relief. And some of us have paid our kids some loose change just to have a few minutes of relief! The reason it feels so good and relaxing is that most all our nerve endings converge or wrap around the feet & ankles.
Massaging with pressure stimulates or releases tension on those nerves and acupressure points, which all affect the rest of our body systems.

There are nerves, nerve endings that surround your foot and ankle. And one of the techniques is to massage up the calf to get circulation and energy flowing.
Reflexology can assist in many ailments overall; stress relief, boosting your energy levels, increase in circulation, and assist removal of toxins. It is always best to drink water afterword. An added soak for your feet in warm/hot water and Epsom salts can continue releasing toxins and relax muscles.
Reflexology also helps reduce headaches and can open up neural pathways to help our cognitive abilities! There is a myriad of benefits.
Who would ever want to turn down a foot massage?
Well, it could be a person with strong sensitivities to touch. There are individuals with sensory integration, or ADHD or similar that might feel very sensitive to touch yet would benefit highly from this technique. But how can one do this?
For my own son with ADHD I have learned to start slow and simple. Just holding his foot in my hand to get used to the touch is a first step. I started with holding firmly & slowly the bottom of foot and toes, then simple light massage. I was taught a point called the ‘three mile point’. Its four finger widths below knee cap and one finger width outside of the shin bone. Work (gently massage) this area for helping digestive issues and energy, and appetite imbalance. This has been a tender spot for my own son. Also, under the big toe, rubbing side to side, and also massage under the outside ankle bone. We simple try these areas a few times a week and I monitor how his behavior or mood are affected.
We must not forget hand points and other points on the body... which can be called acupressure points. Hand massage is another way to relieve stress and tension. There is further information & resources in many places.

Emotions are such a huge part of our daily life. How we react or not to how we feel about ourselves and situations and people lead us down various emotional paths.
Emotions; good or traumatic, affect us even from the womb, as babies, as children, and even now and into our future days & years.
We have all been through some kind of traumatic event, and experience strong feelings or emotions wether we consciously remember those moments or not. The energy of those emotions lodge themselves in different places in our body and affect us physically.
The Emotion Code is a technique or modality that can help free us from those negative energies which usually manifest themselves in some kind of physical ailment; a sore shoulder, a knee pain, or an abdominal ache that wont go away.
This technique was discovered by a doctor based in chiropractic work, Dr Brad Neilson. He soon noticed how his patients symptoms and emotions were connected. He uses kinesiology, muscle testion on your body by asking true or false questions, Its amazing! Your body knows at a cellular level what has happened, what memories it holds and where in the body it holds the energy.
This is something you can learn for yourself, also.
What are your concerns? Your anxieties? Your phobias? Where do seem to hold pain at in your body? And if you are unsure why you seem to have a certain ache but you are unsure why, then mostly likely there is a negative emotion or memor attached to that spot.

Ever wonder what it’s like helping a young teenager gain some Aha! moments/insights out in a hot desert of southwestern United States? I'm so glad I could. Being a wilderness staff was one of the best jobs I had. Working out in nature for week and dealing with the elements, and helping youth was truly a learning experience.
This was my best catalyst! A perfect stepping stone & inspiration to knowing what kind of career I wanted ; to guide & help youth learn their strengths , their weakness, and their abilities and potential!
So as we guided the students through the desert we were given a bag of random supplies and took time to do activities with them. It was so eye opening to myself as I helped facilitate these fun challenges.
I remember a very meaningful game; ‘Ringing Bells’. 1 student or staff held a bell and rang it consistently, staying in the same spot. Meanwhile, 3 others would each ring a bell randomly and wander around. We instructed the students, who were blindfolded, to listen, find, & search for someone or something they can depend on. So they wandered, paused, & some weren’t sure which way to go. But eventually most of them found the consistent & dependable ring. Then we had good discussions. Who was always there? Who never wavered in their integrity or their standards or character? Where was there always a safe environment to go to? … It wasn’t always the loudest person, or closest in proximity, nor was it always the most interesting/intriguing person around... in life... The students had a moment to reflect who in life was or had been the most steady or consistent person to depend on. Good discussion and conversations about this helped the students realize who in life they could always depend on!
I had the opportunity to experience the high ropes & low ropes course right along with the students after a short stint in the desert. It’s interesting to think of the contrast with various activities we did; how easy it is to 'Flip the bird' by throwing a rubber chicken to your teammates in a silly game vs. standing on the ‘Pamper Pole’ 30 ft. off the ground, telling your fears and feelings about the struggles in your family or negative environment that influenced your recent decisions.
Getting to the truth, the reality of what is behind your thoughts, your actions and your behavior; the real reason why the students are where they are right then was so powerful.
It was so meaningful & eye opening.
I loved it! This is what I wanted to do. I wanted to facilitate these activities with youth, or adults; to allow them to experience vulnerability & trust, better communication, & problem solving, & thinking outside the box, and especially recognizing their self-worth. It’s so awesome when a student stretches them self beyond their limits mentally & physically and accomplishes more than what they believed, and they finally realize their capabilities.…aahh…and the choir sings!!
At this moment do you see any words or phrases within eye sight? Take a look around... in a picture, on a cup, on your wall? Are they positive?
How do you feel when you read or see words like; Amazing, Beautiful, Loving, Understanding, Grateful, Joyful, Optimism...?
Its no wonder that these type of words are printed on greeting cards, wall art/decor, in poetry, music, etc or that there are websites dedicated to words. Positive words, verbs really, hold higher vibration which can bring such beneficial energy & vitality to your body & mind. Many of us already recognize this. When we see a word often enough we think about it, replay it in our mind & use it, say it, & act on it. Bad or good.
What about hearing these words? Doesn't it sound and feel nicer to hear; Love, Intelligent, Respectful, Freedom, Progress, etc than to hear or read; No, Fear, Hatred, Stupidity?
Surround yourself with higher energetic and vibrational positive words that will resonate with you. There is a power in this. Words can create thoughts that can create emotions and then actions, just like one of my favorite sayings.
I had put up four words on separate paper on my living room wall for a while. One day I was resting in my bed after a long day with my kids. My 7 yr old son came in and had one of the words and taped it on the wall above my head saying "here mom, you need this.." It was the word 'peace'. His way of telling me I needed to be more peaceful since I had a short temper with him earlier. He seems to recognize that words can make a difference.
I notice other homes with words on doorways or on walls like 'family', 'faith', or 'hope'... It has a meaning, it has importance, an energy to it. What is important to you?
Now YOU put up words or phrases in a highly visual space, where you see them often...every day, at eye level, use color if wanted; at the bathroom mirror(dry erase pens are great), a door frame, your desk or computer(on background screen), in kitchen (where many of us are) & on cupboards (I have placed affirmations where I do dishes).
Place them where you will read them, say them out loud! There is real energy vibration as you say words out loud. It will attract more of that same type of higher vibration. We recognize the opposite when we yell or speak harsh words, dont we?
Also, one of the most powerful statements you can make is an "I Am..." statement. Feel the energy rise up as you say "I am.... creative, capable, compassionate,grateful, loving!" Go ahead, repeat it right now!

When it comes to high adventure;
Some folks say “you’re crazy!” Some say “Oh, how fun!” Some say “I’m not getting up there!” Well, I’ve always loved adventure in the outdoors, but there have been times where non physically challenging things in day to day life are more scary! Why is that?!
So taking a physical risk for me is sometimes easier than a social or emotional risk.
It is interesting to realize that having a dream and a great idea is one thing. Taking real action to make it happen is another. That’s where my non-physical risk or challenge takes place. Beginning of January 2015 I wasn’t even sure what dream I had or wanted. But after a few weeks of reading, pondering about life, googling, listening to webinars, etc then ‘boom!’ it hit me….and your looking at the website of it!
So, what is your dream or big idea? How are you taking action or what decision are you making to affect your life?? Who is supporting you? Or, what are you learning about that you never thought you would learn?
Some of us are at different stages in life. Right now I am taking the stage, well at least in my own little world! I love learning more healthy methods to improve life for myself and others!
